I’ve heard that CVS is updating their coupon acceptance policy. It seems in order to get deals with Extrabucks and use certain CRT’s and digital coupons that offer x dollars off when you spend x dollars, the required amount spent is calculated after all coupons and ECB’s being used are deducted.
Have you noticed this? For example, if you need to spend $15 on shampoo to get $ECB, the coupons you use will lower your amount spent and then you will have to buy more to reach the required minimum amount to earn the ECB’s. I think this is going to make it very confusing for shoppers and hard for us to save money. It has already happened to me this past month when I tried to stack my coupons. What qouod have been a great deal, is now not great at all, taking into consideration CVS’s already high prices in comparison to their competitors.
Hi Lee! At most stores (CVS, Walgreens, etc) the threshold amount is after store coupons and discounts but before manufacturer coupons. If a digital coupon is a manufacturer coupon, it shouldn’t affect the threshold. I’ll keep an eye out for any official coupon policy changes for CVS. If I see any, I’ll be sure to post it.
