I live in Madison, Alabama (if that makes any difference on apps?) As of 5/16/17, I do have the Checkout51 rebate, but I don’t have it listed in my SavingStar app. Oh well! If it were FREE I’d get it, but since I’m not dealing with heartburn & I rarely do, there’s no reason for me to buy it even though it’s still cheap without the 2nd rebate.
One thing about doing all of these rebates is …unless I NEED the item, even if it costs a couple $$ vs a lot more …I’m not going to get it (unless it’s FREE, of course). Because if I don’t need it then I’m still spending money I don’t need to be spending (unless it’s free)! Also, because I”m running out of room for storing so many items. I’ve now got more shampoos, conditioners, toothpastes, razors, washing detergent & printer paper than I’m going to need for a VERY LONG TIME! I’m to the point, I’m giving items away to family & friends. So again, unless something is 100% FREE …just because it’s discounted graciously, if I don’t NEED it, then those few $$ here & there start to add up. When you’re on SSDI or any budget really, EVERY $$ has to count!
So that’s my 2 cents worth …been wanting to say that for awhile because it can be very “addicting” & time-consuming doing all of these coupons, rebates & stacking …which I don’t mind if I’m not paying much for needed items or getting totally free items, which I have lately. However, I’ve got to discipline myself now & say “okay, you don’t NEED another toothpaste or razor, as your now set for the next 6 months. So unless you know someone that NEEDS it, then pass it up …LOL, unless it’s free, then I’ll take it & donate it!
Just curious if anyone else is dealing with this “coupon mentality struggle”?!?!
Hi Deb. It is very easy to get overwhelmed with all of the different deals. I try to focus on the best deals and only get things that I know I will use. I think all couponers go through this same struggle at one point or another. Know that you are not alone. 🙂
