    target-9-15

Hi Guys, here’s my shopping trip to Target this week (9/15-9/21). You’ll see at the very end of this post, my cost for all this is $2.10.

As usual, I look for items I can get for either Free with Stacked Coupons or getting them for very cheap. See below for detailed breakdowns. I try to break scenarios down so beginners could understand, so the breakdowns are longer than typical breakdowns using heavy coupon lingo.

Many of these deals require the use of coupons from Sunday inserts. If you’re a coupon newbie, start collecting inserts from Sunday papers. When I refer to inserts below, you’ll see SS and RP, which are short for SmartSource and RedPlum inserts. The number after the SS is the date when that insert came out. Some offers (like the hand soap) require only printable coupons you can print from your computer.

As usual, prices will likely vary by store. Depending on where you live, the prices may be either more or less than the prices I have listed below. But this will give you a starting point. Okay here we go:

► Free Pantene Shampoo & Stylers

    The Sale:

    Buying Scenario:

    • Buy 3 Bottles of Pantene 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner, big bottles: $6.49×3 = $19.47
    • Buy 3 Bottles of Pantene Hair Styling Gel: $4.99×3 = $14.97
    • Use 3 of the Bogo Coupon from SS 9/15. It auto deducts at $4.99 each. subtract $4.99×3 = $14.97
    • And Use Target Cartwheel to save 5%. subtract $1.24
    • You Pay: $19.29 ($18.23 + tax $1.06)
    • You Get Back $20 in Gift Card
    • Final Price: FREE + $0.71 Money Maker

    Notes:

    • This deal with gift card may not be available at all Target locations.
    • At my Target, the sale is on until 10/12. So plenty of time to gather coupons.
    • If you don’t have coupons from inserts, you can also attempt this scenario using printable coupons.
    • I would buy these in multiples of 3 per transaction.

► Cheap Glade Fall Scented Candles

    The Sale:

    Buying Scenario:

    • Buy 4 Glade Candles from Fall Collection: $2.99 x 4 = $11.96
    • Get 1 Free as Part of the B3G1 Promo: subtract $2.99
    • Use two $1.50/2 coupon: subtract $3.00
    • Use three $1/1 Target Coupon: subtract $3.00
    • Use Cartwheel: subtract $0.30
    • Final Price: $2.67 for 4 candles = $0.67 each

► Cheap Up&Up Brand Hand Soap

► Free Rachael Ray Dog Food

    • Buy 1 Rachael Ray Wet Dog Food: $1.89
    • Use one $2.50 coupon from SS 9/8: subtract $2.50
    • Final Price: Free + $0.61 Money Maker – Overage applied to other items in my cart.

    Other Items in My Transaction:

    • Coppertone Sunscreen on Clearance for $6.28. Used $2/1 Coupon from SS 8/25. Final Price: $4.28
    • Gillette Shaving Cream. $0.99 each. Used $3/2 Gillette coupon from RP 8/11 (RedPlum insert). Final price: Free + $0.50 Overage.
    • Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kit. $0.97 each. Used $3/3 Johnson&Johnson First Aid coupon from SS 9/8. Final Price: Free

In the end, I did three transactions. Paid $62.10 in total. And got back $60 in Gift Cards. So my total cost for ALL THIS is $2.10 including tax! I used the gift card from each transaction to pay for the next transaction. And I would use the Target Red Card to pay whenever possible, since it takes off an additional 5% off.
