The most common question I get is “If a coupon says Redeemable at (Store Name). Can I use it at a different store?” The answer is yes! We are seeing more and more of those type of printable coupons with strong marketing suggestions on them to be redeemed at certain retailers like Walmart & others. Target has recently updated their Coupon Policy to clarify that these kind of manufacturer’s coupons are accepted in their stores 🙂 Below is the updated wording:
“How can I tell if Target will accept my manufacturer coupon?”
Target will accept your manufacturer coupon, as long as printed limitations and requirements are met. Keep In Mind:
- Manufacturer coupons can be accepted at the register even if they don’t clearly indicate who the manufacturer is, or if they indicate the name of another retailer.
- If a coupon states “Manufacturer Coupon,” it’s redeemable anywhere (including Target), even if the coupon states, “Redeemable at Kroger, Cub, etc.” (or any other retailer).
Also, a lot of us encounter the issue with “per purchase” and “per transaction” when using coupons there’s another update that will clarify this difference 🙂 YAY! Finally, something to reference in store!
“What is the difference between “per purchase” and “per transaction” when using coupons?”
- One coupon per purchase means you’re using one coupon per item being purchased. You can use multiples of the same coupon as long as each coupon has a matching item
- One coupon per transaction means you can use only one specific coupon per store transaction. You can’t use more than one same coupon, even if you’re buying multiple items
Thanks for the heads up Totally Target!
I went to Target today and had to fight with them to take a coupon that said redeemable at Walmart. I had to pull up the policy to show them and the employee named Mel was very rude. She was bad mouthing me to other employees.
I’m sorry about your poor experience 🙁 I hope they honored it for you.
