It was a fun trip to Walgreens this week. Nothing makes me happier than to leave Walgreens without any RRs, and paying as little, out of pocket, as possible. I had paid a total of $0.57 out of pocket (before tax), and spent a total of 10,000 points between the two transactions.
I did want to mention that the Shout/Windex/Scrubbing Bubbles coupon did not scan at the register. The cashiers were nice enough to manually enter the coupons in. And as with any manual entry of coupons, you want to make sure all other coupons have been scanned. Otherwise, the manual entry will lock you out from adding any more coupons.
Transaction 1:
► Buy Shout Cleaner 22 oz = $3.00
► Buy Windex Cleaner 26 oz = $3.00
Use $1.50/1 Shout Product coupon = -$1.50
(Must sign up, answer questions & share)
And use $1/1 Windex Product coupon = -$1.00
Pay: $3.50
Get Back: $2.00 Register Reward

(for redeeming both rebates)
Submit receipt for $1.00 cash back from Checkout51
(for Shout)
Submit receipt for $1.00 cash back from Checkout51
(For Windex)
Final Price: Free + $1.50 Moneymaker
Note: The computer did not recognize the coupon. The cashiers had to manually enter the coupon.
Note: I did two Glade Candles only because the Wax Melts were out at my store. See next block for the breakdown for Wax Melts if your store has them in stock
► Buy (2) Glade Candles (3.8 oz) @ 2 for $6.00

Transaction 2: Used all $15.49 in RR. Paid $0.57 + tax. Got back 8,000 points

Show Notes:
I love CVS. I love how flexible it can be and how easy it is to roll rewards. No need to wait. No limits on how many ECBs you can use in a transaction. There are two strategies to couponing at CVS: You can roll with a lot of ECBs (ExtraBucks) from week to week, or you can do what I do, which is to minimize ECBs.
My strategy is to hold on to as little ECB as possible from week over week. I do that because they have expiration dates, and I don't like having the mental pressuring of "Needing" to go to a store. My goal at the end of the week is either to have no ECBs left over, or just a few ECBs. If given the choice, I prefer lower denominations in ECB values than higher denominations. It's easier to spend $1 ECB than it is to spend $10.
The other thing is I don't plan out transactions before going to the store. I go in with a rough idea of what I may be interested in buying. I'll clip and bring those coupons with me. I do this because a lot can happen once you're in the store - they could be out of stock, have different price (which will throw your math off).
I plan actual transactions when I'm in the store. There are different ways to breakup transactions, depending on how much ECB you are starting with. I can go into more detail of my in-store strategies in a future post. But here's a quick summary:
Make my list at home. Gather the coupons. First thing in store: see what coupons print from the CVS Redbox coupon machine.
In store: load up my cart of each item, after I review each item's price and availability.
List out every item I'm buying. List out next to each item, the cost after coupons. And on the last column, how much ECB it gives back (if any)
I look at the two columns, and group items such that I would maximize the amount I can roll. The goal is to pay as little as possible out of pocket.
For this week, I split my purchases into 3 transactions. Here's what I did:
Transaction 1:
►Buy (1) PayAnywhere Credit Card Reader = $9.99
Pay: $9.99
Get Back: $9.99 ExtraBucks (limit 5)
Final Price: Free
Note: I wouldn't have gotten this if it was just $10 with $10 ecb. Because you would still have to pay tax on the item. Notice there is a $10 rebate on the box after you activate the card reader and process one transaction.
Transaction Summary:
I paid $9.99 + $0.80 tax
I got back $9.99 ecb
I will also get back $10 Rebate (inside box)
Transaction 2:
► Buy (2) Irish Spring Gear Body Wash (15 -18 oz) @ 2 for $7.00
Use (2) $2/1 Irish Spring Gear or Signature Body Wash = -$4.00
(Or use $2/1 Irish Spring Signature Body Wash (SS 2/22, x3/14))
Pay: $3.00
Get Back: $2 ExtraBucks (limit 1) for buying (2)
Final Price: $0.50 each or $1.00 for both
► Buy (1) Campbell’s Tomato Soup (10.75 oz) = $0.79
(or Chicken Noodle)
Pay: $0.79
Get Back: $0.50 ExtraBucks (limit 1)
Final Price: $0.29
► Buy (1) CVS Nutritional Shake (8 oz) = $1.25
Pay: $1.25
Get Back: $1.25 ExtraBucks (limit 1) for buying (1)
Final Price: Free
► Buy (1) Benadryl Itch Relief Stick (0.47 oz) ($3.49-$3.79)
(Regular price. Vary by store location)
Use (1) $1/1 Benadryl Topical Product = -$1.00
Pay: $2.49-$2.79
Get Back: $3 ExtraBucks (limit 1)
Final Price: Free + ($0.51 to $0.21) Moneymaker
► Buy (2) Xtra Laundry Detergent (30 loads) @ 2 for $3.00
Use (1) $1/2 Xtra Laundry Detergent = -$1.00
(or $1/2 Xtra SS 2/22, x4/4)
Final Price: $1.00 each ($0.04 per load) or $2.00 for both
Transaction Summary:
Total after coupons was $10.83 + tax
(I had forgotten the Benadryl $1 off coupon. So my total after coupon was suppose to be $9.83. If this was the case, I needed to add a cheap filler to bump my total to above $9.99)
I used $9.99 ecb from Transaction 1 to pay.
I paid $0.84 + $1.10 in tax
I got back $6.75 in ecb from the 5 items combined.
Transaction 3:
► Buy (1) Huggies Pull-Ups = $7.99
Use $2/1 Huggies Pull-Ups = -$2.00
And use (1) $2.50/1 Pull-Ups CVS coupon = -$2.50
Final Price: $3.49
Transaction Summary:
I bought two Huggies Pull-Ups. My total after coupons was $6.98. (plus tax)
I had $6.75 in ecb from transaction 2. This made me very happy!
My total after ecb and coupons was $0.23. YAY! Tax was $1.28.
Trip Summary:
All in all, here's what we did in total:
I had spent a total of $11.06 ($9.99 + $0.84 + $0.23) before tax. Out of pocket
No extrabucks left
I have $10 rebate.
Thus making the final price after rebate to be $1.06 (before tax) !!
Total Tax was: $3.18 ($0.80+$1.10+$1.28). Making the total after tax to be $4.24
I was a happy girl

VIDEO: How to Organize Coupons
*NOTE: Click on the video above to start watching. Or if you don't see the video, click here to watch it on youtube.
*If you liked the video, click here to Subscribe to future videos.
Hello! I just uploaded a video on How to Organize Coupons - one of the most common questions I get asked. While there are several popular Coupon Organization Methods out there, my favorite organization method is the Whole Insert Filing Method. :) I like how little time it takes up front to get organized. It literally takes me 5 minutes a week to pull inserts and get them organized.
Additionally, I also introduce my "Pencil Case Method" in the second half of the video - how I personally store loose coupons before I go on a coupon trip.
There are no wrong answers for what method you choose. The trade off has to do with how much time you spend upfront, vs, how easy it will be to access the coupons when you need them. I used keep whole insert sheets in a binder, but that became too complex (when I got inserts from multiple papers and all the pages differs) and time consuming.
I will be doing more videos on the other two methods in the future. For now, here's my answer to "How do you organize your coupons?" hehe... Enjoy!

*NOTE: Click on the video above to start watching. Or if you don't see the video, click here to watch it on youtube.
*If you liked the video, click here to Subscribe to future videos.
Good Morning! I just uploaded a video on Clearance Shopping at ToysRUs (or BabiesRUs). There are several clearance related deals right now. Below are the direct links to related coupons that I referred to in the video:
Coupons: (Can show on phone)
Coupon: Save Extra 20% Off Clearance Toys - this coupon seemed to have worked on holiday clearance and clearance wall decal when I checked out.
Coupon: Get a Free Dr Brown Baby Bottle with Purchase of $15 or more.
Clearance Clothing:
Take an Extra 50% Off Pink Tag clearance apparel, shoes and accessories. For sizes newborn to 5T.
If you don't have a ToysRUs or BabiesRUs close by, some good clearance clothing can also be found online here.
Tip: Walk thru the reg section, not just clearance racks and look for pink tag
Tip: BabiesRUs tend to have a larger selection than ToysRUs for apparel and shoes.
Ends Thursday, 1/15. I'm not sure what will happen after the 15th. Possible bigger drop?
Holiday Clearance:
Holiday Themed products are mostly 90% off. Keep eyes on possible holiday items through out the store.
Tip: If something holiday themed isn't ringing up for 90% off, you can ask at Customer Service. Sometimes (depending on the product) they may manually adjust the price down for you.

VIDEO: Target Holiday Clearance Preview 2014
Update: Reposting this in case you missed it from earlier this week. This starts tomorrow. :)
*NOTE: Click on the video above to start watching. Or if you don't see the video, click here to watch it on youtube.

Happy Christmas Week! I just uploaded a new video that gives a quick overview of Target Holiday Clearance that will start the day after Christmas 12/26. As with every year, most Christmas or Holiday themed items will go on clearance -- usually at 50% off, with the exception of food items which will start at 30% off. A few days after that, the 50% off items will drop to 70% off, and a few days after that will drop to 90% off.
It's a fun time for me. I went so overboard last year that my husband is still recovering from the mountains of ziploc bags and food storage containers I collected when they hit 70% and 90% off a year ago. lol. So I'm gonna exercise some self control this year. I will only go in order to take pictures for you guys, and try to not get anything..... unless I find Freebies, then I will not be able to control myself. :)
Anyway, in this video, I just wanted to quickly introduce the idea to you, and to highlight some example items that will (most likely) go on clearance the day after Christmass. It's a perfect time to stock up for Christmas next year, stuff like decorations, wrapping paper, and even stocking stuffers for next year. Remember to use the price checker to see what the actual markdown is. Thing won't all be labeled.
If you guys have any special requests you want to see in video, let me know in the comment section below. :) If you are new to Couponing in general, check out my Video Couponing Class Here.
Also, as I mentioned, there are two ads this week. Click here to see the weekly deals for the first half of this week (12/21-12/24). How to Get Rid of Diaper Rash (NEW VIDEO)
*NOTE: Click on the video above to start watching. Or if you don't see the video, click here to watch it on youtube.
*If you liked the video, click here to Subscribe to future videos.
In today's video, we're gonna talk about How to get ride of Diaper Rash. While I know this has nothing to do with Couponing, I know that some of you have little ones in diapers who may have this problem. My husband was the one that found this solution, after month of us trying traditional solutions, including medicated creams prescribed from our pediatrician (which did not work). Anyway, enjoy the video, see show notes below for links to all the products I refer to in the video. :)
Show Notes:
Here are all the products I refer to in the video:
California Baby Diaper Area Wash Spray - We had bought ours from amazon. I didn't see this product in stores. If you know of any deals on this product, please leave a comment below to let me know.
Burt's Bees Dusting Powder Talc Free - This is the talc free powder we currently use. There is currently a 10% off coupon you can clip on the page (not sure when it expires). This comes in two sizes, 4.5oz and 7.5oz.
California Baby Non-Talc Powder - This is an alternative to the Burt's Bees powder above. This was the one we first bought, but later moved to Burt's Bees because it was cheaper. Both seem equally good and effective.
Soft Washcloths - You probably already have this. But here's a link to the pack of soft washcloths I have. I got these as a gift when my son was a baby. And we now use them for my daughter. Get soft ones and remember to Pat Dry instead of wipe with baby wipes.

NEW VIDEO: CVS Black Friday Freebies
*NOTE: Click on the video above to start watching. Or if you don't see the video, click here to watch it on youtube.
*If you liked the video, click here to Subscribe to future videos.
Hi! I've just uploaded a new video highlighting some of the Pre-Black Friday and Black Friday Freebies at CVS. This is purely for demonstration purposes. If you don't have CVS in your area, there are similar Freebies (after rewards type deals) at other stores this week (ie. Walgreens, Rite Aid). I just used CVS as an example, because it's newbie friendly.

How to Get Free Stuff Online (NEW VIDEO!)
*NOTE: Click on the video above to start watching. Or if you don't see the video, click here to watch it on youtube.
*If you liked the video, click here to Subscribe to future videos.
This was my favorite video to make (so far), because this topic is at the heart of what Free Stuff Finder was about when it was first started in 2006 -- way before we ventured into couponing and online deals. I hope you enjoy the video.
Show Notes:
Here are the resource links of tools I mentioned in the video:
Google Voice - If you already have a gmail account, you can sign in with your gmail account to get setup. Or if you are new to gmail or google accounts, you can sign up here. With google voice, you can get a Free phone number in your local area code. The phone number can accept calls, receive voice mails and text messages. Never fill out an online form with your real number.
RoboForm - You can read more about and download RoboForm here. It was designed to be a password manager, with plugins for your web browser. But it has auto fill feature to fill in commonly used web fields.
LastPass - LastPass is an alternative to RoboForm. Another very cool password manager with browser plugins, and can help to fill out forms faster.
The video was based on the 5 Tips for Free Stuff Finding article from last year. :)

Several people had asked how the Staples Easy Rebate works, because the word "rebate" sound a little daunting. I wanted to bring you along to Staples this week to demonstrate how simple the easy rebate submission is. As a couponer, we really shouldn't need to pay retail for paper, especially with the frequent Staples Easy Rebate deals that comes out. Anyway, hope the video was helpful to ya. :) Hit subscribe on YouTube to be notified of other new videos on money saving tips and frugal living.
If you want to follow along and do the deal this week (Ends 11/15/2014), go here for details on the two deals I mentioned in the video. Very simple and good for beginners to try. Let me know how it goes for you. :)
You can also access to both coupons here. Again, you can show the coupons from your phone or you can print them out on paper.

How to Save at Starbucks – Never Pay Full Price (New Video)
*Click on the Video Above to Start Watching the Video. Or click here to watch it. If you liked the video, click here to Subscribe to more videos.
NOTES: Quick Links from Video: Raise Starbucks Gift Cards Here and Starbucks Reward Program Here
I love Starbucks. But I don't love the premium pricing on their highly addicting and yummy treats. As a habitual deal chaser and frugal couponer, I'm always looking for ways to avoid paying full price for items, and Starbucks is no exception. Even if the savings is small, every little bit helps.
Here is my strategy for never paying full price at Starbucks. Yes, I have a strategy. And when my husband violates any part of this strategy... well let's just say, it ain't pretty. :) (j/k)
Step #1
Sign up for the Starbucks Reward Program, either online or from your phone. Next, download the Starbucks app to your phone and then link your Starbucks Reward Program to your phone's app.
Step #2
Go to Raise.com, which is a marketplace for buying and selling discounted gift cards, and buy a discounted Starbucks gift card. This is really very easy to do and the gift cards can either be physically mailed to you or sent electronically to your email. The discounts range from 5% to 20%, depending entirely on what's available and how competitive the Raise.com marketplace is at that moment. The best price I've gotten for a Starbucks gift card was a 19% discount.
I always choose the electronic gift card and in just a few minutes, once I have received the gift card's code in my email, I can then enter that code into my Starbucks' Reward Program via my phone's app (or from a computer) and I'm off and running.
Step #3
Always use your phone's Starbucks app to pay while shopping at Starbucks. When you do this, you are using the money from your discounted gift card you bought from Raise.com (savings tip number 1) and you are also racking up reward points on your Starbucks Reward Program (savings tip number 2).
One additional tip I have, and this is the step that gets my husband in deep doo-doo because he's too embarrassed to actually do this: If you are buying multiple items at Starbucks, buy them in separate transactions. So if you are buying two coffees and a food item, let the cashier know that you will be paying for them in 3 separate transactions. We do this, because a reward point (or "Star") is given for every transaction. This way, you can rack up points quicker than if you (like my husband) pay for multiple items in one transaction.
How the Starbucks Reward Program Work
By paying with your Starbucks app you are tracking your transactions in your Starbucks Reward Program. Once you hit 5 stars within a 12 month period, you'll be in the Green level status. Once you have racked up 30 stars within a 12 month period, you will have achieved Gold Status.
With Green level, you'll get a Freebie (any drink or food item) on your birthday. And Free in-store refills on coffee or tea.
With Gold level, you'll get the benefits of Green level, plus you get a FREE ITEM every time you hit your 12th star. The free item is good on any drink or food item in the store. You can get the largest drink with multiple shots. But from my experience, you'll get the most value by getting their pre-packaged gourmet salads. They are the most expensive food or drink item carried at the store at $6.99. My favorite is the Chicken Quinoa Salad. Awesome lunch. FREE makes it the more delicious! :)
Using Raise.com to Sell Unused Gift Cards
Have you ever gotten a gift card to a store that you just don't like shopping at? Or maybe the amount you were given isn't enough to buy anything useful at that store without spending more money? Then consider selling the gift card for cash!
Raise.com is not only a great place to buy discounted gift cards but also a great place to sell your unused gift cards to other shoppers for cash. You can sell physical gift cards and cards with merchandise credit that have a minimum of $20. And you can sell eGift cards that have a minimum of $10 on them.
How To Sell Gift Cards
Let's say you have a $20 gift card for Nordstrom and you don't want to use it because you would most likely have to add more cash to the transaction.
Head over to raise.com Sell Gift Card page
Enter in the basics (card retailer, serial number, etc.) This info is kept private at all times.
For each gift card sold, raise.com takes a 15% commission of the sale price. They provide you with prepaid shipping labels.
Choose how much to sell the card for. Depending on brand cards sell faster with at least a 5% discount.
Choose how to be paid, check out PayPal.
